An endowment fund in memory of Earl K. Nau has been established at the Ozark Empire Fair to provide an annual scholarship to a junior beef cattle exhibitor at the Fair. The Nau Family provides the funding of the scholarship to honor their late father.
Applicants must be at least 15 years of age and have exhibited breeding beef cattle at the Ozark Empire Fair for at least two years. Applicants will achieve scores based on winnings in:
* Junior beef classes
* Showmanship classes
* Open beef classes
* Herdsmanship awards
* Other 4-H/FFA exhibit classes
Applicants will also receive points for participation (and ranking) in district 4-H/FFA livestock judging competition as well as for service at the Fair as a volunteer in either the 4-H or FFA Exhibit Buildings or activities. The period of participation to be evaluated is from the 2023 Ozark Empire Fair through July 15, 2024.
The scholarship winner will receive $1,500 for tuition, textbooks or other fees associated with the pursuit of a post-secondary education.
Applications must be received (mailed or delivered) in the Fair Office no later than 4 p.m., July 15, 2024.
The scholarship will be presented at the Angus Show on Saturday, July 27, 2024.
